Aussie vs. Kiwi clubs at Sacred Heart

Shore girls take on Aussies' capital

North Harbour Under 16 A Girls have beaten Canberra Academy in a quality 11-3 match at Sacred Heart Aquatic Centre.

North Harbour were dominant from the start, with Jess Marsden scoring 3 goals on the trot. Canberra had no answer in the first quarter.

The second quarter was a different story; each team scoring 2 goals with the buffer remaining at 4 heading into the second half.

Words from coach Robbie Tindall at half time settled North Harbour - scoring 4 and leaving Canberra goalless.

North Harbour relaxed on their laurels in the fourth, with each team scoring another to bring the score to 11-3 at full time.

North Harbour goalkeeper Lavenia Lovodua commented "It was a good game, the girls defended really well."

"Our team is working well together, we've finally clicked," said Nadia Pavlovich "the goal is to win."

Girls in green triumph over NSW

MEAN IN GREEN: Tauranga U16 Girls bench

Tauranga Under 16 Girls have beaten NSW Girls in a clinical exhibition of the game.

NSW opened the scoring, with #12 catching Tauranga goalie Alisha Winstanley off-guard. A centre-forward goal from Tauranga's Julia Kayes and an outside shot from Caitlyn Lyttle saw them bounce back to a 2-1 lead. NSW failed to execute on two 6 on 5 opportunities late in the first, to stay behind by one goal.

A slow start to the quarter, but Tauranga's Kayes managed to roll-out and score two more from close-range, Tauranga showing some promising passing and teamwork. NSW's R. Braun managed to slip one past Winstanley to bring the score to 5-2 at half time.

A quiet third quarter saw Aurora Munkeldal score another for Tauranga. 6-2 with a quarter to play.

The fourth and final quarter was much like the third, however NSW were the ones to score this time - G. Robson taking the honours, making the score 6-3 at the final whistle.
