Huge crowds to kick off the morning at Epsom Pool



Canterbury Boys'

Pool control room was shaking with the crowds support for this riveting first game. Sea Wolf jumped up early with a goal 40 seconds into the game but was soon responded to with Canterbury scoring 2 more to take an early lead 2-1 at the end of the first quarter. Sea wolf came our firing in the second and went Henry dick conceiving 2 goals and his fellow team mates Sam Casey and Ben Sterritt each getting one to jump into the lead 5-2 at half time.
Despite the encouragement from their support crew Canterbury couldn't find an answer to Sea Wolves determination in the offense. Seeing Sea Wolf take the victory 8 - 4.

Coach Fraser Bickley said "He was pleased to play a closer game today after facing the wrath of Tauranga A yesterday. Each game the boys' play they are improving quickly and enhancing their individual skill set." 




CDM Polo 2 lining up

The morale continued at EGGS with PNBHS taking on CDM Polo 2. Riveting start with lots of intensity from both sides resulting in a 1-1 tie at the first quarter break. In the second quarter it continued until CDMs speed showed through in some last minute counter attack opportunities scoring 3 goals in the last minute taking their lead to 6-2 at half time. This trend continued in the 3rd quarter CDM taking two more goals early in the 3rd. Until PNBHS capatalised on a second wind scoring 3 goals to shorten the gap to 5-8 going in to the final quarter.
After some encouragement from the coach in the final quarter break - CDM once again came out firing. Finishing the game with a convincing win of 13 - 6.

The Final Showdown at Epsom

Last but not least left the spectators on the edge of their seat with Tauranga B taking on the Sydney Uni Buccaneers. This nail biting game saw these boys' showing lots of determination. A physical show down between both sides and some great defensive qualities created a minimal scoreline. With a 2-1 half time score. Tauranga B stepped up in the 3rd quarter by 2 goals and despite SU Buccanneers several efforts to equalise Tauranga B with held to win 5-4.
