Close contention between CDM Polo and North Harbour

This photograph says it all in today's match between North Harbour and CDM. It was arguably the best Water Polo witnessed in this U18 Women's competition so far. It was a fast pace game with a physical determination from both sides that went throughout the entire game. Both teams showed an aggressive attacking game which showed heightened enthusiasm from the players, coaches and spectators.

CDM was first to score after a penalty shot was awarded from an impressive move made from their Centre Forward but North Harbour was soon to even the score with a beautifully placed outside shot from Grace Tobin. Confidence was building for North Harbour as Emily Nicolson scored another to take the lead to 2 -1. Eliza Britt of CDM fired back scoring 2 back to back goals to raise their score to 4 - 2 heading in to the second quarter.

And so it continued....Harbour, CDM, Harbour, CDM's Eliza Britt once again firing two back to back goals giving CDM a 3 goal lead at half time 7 - 4. 3rd quarter showed North Harbour's determination once again closing the gap to 9 - 8 to CDM heading into the final quarter.

The tables then turned and CDM came out unstoppable in the final quarter once again raising the bar and securing their victory with a 12 - 8 final score.

Eliza Britt (4 goals) and Grace Morgan (5 goals) both had exceptional games from CDM Polo together contributing to 9 of CDM's 12 goals. North Harbour's Grace Tobin also showed her elitism by assisting her team with 5 goals.
