U20 Women's finalists found

WELLINGTON beat CDM Polo

Wellington have proved that they are worthy of a gold medal in their 6-7 win over Corona Del Mar Polo Women.

CDM started strong, heading 2-0 up early on. Wellington's Abby Cartmell responded - netting two in the last 50 seconds of the quarter.

The Wellington girls adorned in their lion suits had awoken, Kate Enoka scoring a ripper from distance supported by Cartmell scoring another in a 6 on 5 attack - halftime score 3-4.

TIME OUT: Teams talk tactics

Enoka gave away a penalty early on, letting CDM's G. Morgan score her third past Wellington goalkeeper Selina Duggan. An exclusion from Morgan saw Wellington capitalise, bringing the scores to 4-5. CDM bounced back earning another 6 on 5 to see E. Britt do the honours of scoring, 5-5.

Another goal to Cartmell, another to CDM, then a further goal to Cartmell saw Wellington head 6-7 into the final quarter.

Wellington coach Emily Cox utilised her time-outs in the final quarter, making sure her girls were settled. 3 exclusions did not equate to goals, resulting in a scoreless quarter and a final score of 6-7.

"I'm pretty happy with their progress," said Cox, "they keep on improving so hopefully they can step it up another level."
