Marist Red vs. Canberra Academy A
Marist took an early lead against Canberra Academy A with Chris Cormack and Phillip Hargraves netting one each. Canberra's L. Trabinger responded with a goal down the other end. Cormack scored another for Marist, then Liam Paterson was excluded from centre-back, allowing Trabinger to score from a man-up play to bring the quarter-time score to 3-2.
4 exclusions and a penalty at the beginning of the quarter led to no goals for both teams, until Cormack scored his third. He scored his fourth at the end of the quarter to make the scores 6-3 in favour of Marist heading to half-time.
A strong defensive quarter from Canberra led to opportunities in offence, with Trabinger and JB. Spahr converting to come back into the game. 6-5 heading into the final quarter.
Canberra continued their flurry of goals, Trabinger and Spahr scoring their third goal each to take the lead. Marist were not about to give the game away and scored three goals - Conor Paterson (2) and his brother Liam (1).
Canberra had the final say with S. Nangle scoring to bring the final score to 9-8 in favour of Marist Red.
CDM Polo 2 vs. Golden Hawks
California's Corona Del Mar Polo 2 team have taken on Golden Hawks in a close game at West Wave this evening. CDM took the lead early with F. Hoose scoring two for his side. Golden Hawk's J. Oolders scored at the end of the first to make the score 2-1.
A dominant second quarter from CDM saw them race out to a 4 goal lead, with C. Turnbow-Lindenstadt scoring two goals. Tom Oolders scored with 49 seconds left on the clock to bring his team back to a 3 goal deficit heading into halftime.
The tide turned in the third quarter and saw Tom Oolders and Will Pickering score for the Golden Hawks. Solid defence kept CDM scoreless to bring the score to 5-4 heading to the last quarter.
A settled start of the quarter saw CDM Polo 2 score two goals from J. Barden and G. Dickens, 7-4 with 3 and a half minutes left to play.
A last minute rush from Golden Hawks saw Wilson Longhurst score two - but it was not enough to make up for their quiet 2nd quarter. Final score 7-6 to CDM.
Mountfort Wolf Pack vs. CDM Polo 3
The Sea Wolf/Mountfort Park combination have taken on CDM Polo 3 in a tight match this evening.
Auckland's Mountfort Wolf Park were dominant at the beginning, with B. Wharton-Benedict and T. Kathagen scoring two goals each to make the scores 2-4.
CDM's W. Rodosky opened the scoring in the second quarter with a well-executed penalty. His teammate R. Cousens scored another to bring the scores equal. Another goal from each side saw the scores sit at 5-5 at the break.
Both teams defended 6 on 5 very well, but managed to score using other offensive plays. 6-7 to Mountfort Wolf Park.
CDM Polo's Roeletter scored his third goal to equalise, but Mountfort Wolf Pack's Kathagen scored two more to make his tally 4 and claim the game. Final score 7-9 to Mountfort Wolf Pack.
