North Harbour all over Marist in U16 Girls' final

North Harbour have dominated the 2014 Platform Print Panasonic Pan Pacific Under 16 Girls Championship with a 3-8 win over their Auckland rivals Marist Red.

The first quarter was tight, Marist's Gabbie Milicich opened the scoring with a penalty. A few nerves rattled the North Harbour girls with a few dropped passes and missed shots. Nadia Pavolich and Emily Nicholson managed one goal each, to put North Harbour in the lead 1-2 after the first quarter.

Nicholson managed another off 6 on 5 in the second, but a missed penalty and poor passing from North Harbour restricted them to the one goal for the quarter. 1-3 at half-time.

Stern words from coach Robbie Tindall in the break saw the North Harbour girls come out flying, with #13 Liana Dance scoring a hat-trick for the quarter. Nicholson added another to bring her team to 2-7 heading into the final quarter - the trophy on the near horizon.

Marist's Tate Renata was excluded, letting Nicholson from North Harbour score her fourth. 6 goals in a quarter was too steep a hill to climb for Marist, but Tate Renata managed her second of the match for a credible 3-8 scoreline.
