The Harbour boys showed a real team effort in today’s win against Wellington’s Hutt side. Defensive recoveries and steals dominated their game, enabling Harbour to score several times from their outstanding counter attacks down the right wing to leftie Matt Morris, and also down the left wing to Jack Brotherton, Jarvis Jensen, Brett O’Neill and Ethan Thomas. Jordan Brown also showed his strength in centre forward throughout the game. Hutt fought back strong on defence to keep Harbour to only 1 goal in the second quarter.
North Harbour’s press and their 6 on 5 defence was, however, far too strong for Hutt to put away their offensive opportunities, with Jack Brotherton, Braeden Maaka, Matt Morris and Jake Lockwood smoothly and reliably stealing the ball on multiple occasions.
Hutt’s #2 L. Wen scored the team’s only goal early in the 4th quarter to take the scoreboard 9-1.
Final Score: North Harbour 13 - Hutt 1.
