Canterbury upset CDM Polo 2 in the final quarter to take 19th
Canterbury Boys' take the lead in the final quarter after trailing for the duration of the match. Coach Fraser Bickley describes the Canterbury Water Polo to be in a rebuilding phase after the set back of the Earthquake devastation eliminating their training grounds. He has lots of ideas and is excited with the potential that will be aided by the restructuring of the new pool. Until then Canterbury faces minimal training time but still seeks any opportunity they can get. This game epitomizes the growth the boys have had over the duration of this tournament coming from trailing the entire match to firing up in the last quarter to take their victory and secure their 19th place finish. With a final score of 8 - 7.
If this growth can be shown through the duration of a tournament you can only imagine what can happen in the rebuilding phase that is beginning to lift of the ground down there.
