Solid evening for Under 18 Men

Hutt vs. Sea Wolf

Hutt have taken on Sea Wolf tonight at West Wave, coming away with a credible win - 9 goals to 4.

The first quarter saw Hutt race out to a 4 goal lead, with one each to Cameron Hayes, Lachie Watson, Mataio Pou, and S. Hughes.

The second quarter was much the same - Pou scoring two and Watson one more to take their score to 7-0 heading into the halftime break.

A strong quarter from Sea Wolf saw them score two goals, courtesy of J. Mabus, and Sam Fleming who scored from a man-up play. 8-2 with 6 minutes to play.

Hutt's Cameron Hayes made his tally two when he opened the scoring in the final quarter. Sea Wolf's Max Phillips-Rudowski managed to score on a 6 on 5 to bring the scoreline to 9-3. L. Vandersande had the last say, scoring one for Sea Wolf with four seconds left on the clock. Final score 9-4 in favour of Hutt.

Hutt take on North Harbour tomorrow in a do-or-die match to decide who qualifies second in their pool and heads into the quarter finals.


Golden Hawks vs. Waitakere Teal

The Golden Hawks started strongly against the local Waitakere Teal, with Wilson Longhurst and Ben Harrison scoring one each.

An even second quarter saw Izaiah Mahe from Waitakere open the scoring for his side, bringing the score to 3-1 heading into half-time.

A solid quarter from the Golden Hawks saw Harrison score another, alongside Tom Oolders and Jackson Olds. Waitakere Teal's Reed Hallet scored one for his side. 6-2 with a quarter to play.

Tom Oolders opened the scoring in the final quarter with a penalty to take his team to a 7-2 lead. Olds scored his second to take his team's lead out to six. An impressive goal from Jack Dymond in the final 3  seconds of the game saw the final score sit at 9-4 to the Golden Hawks.

Golden Hawks will take on Tauranga Under 18 Men tomorrow to decide who heads into the quarter finals.
