Hutt U20 Men have managed to edge over California's Corona Del Mar Blue in a tightly contested match at West Wave today.
With the scores all tied at 7-7 after a minute of play in the final quarter, Hutt stood their ground. Two goals from Jack Ross and Cameron Hayes didn't stop CDM from coming back. G. Spruth from CDM managed to slot a goal on 6 on 5 to bring the scores to 9-8 with 3 minutes to play.
A 'donut' goal from Cameron Hayes and an outstanding 9 meter shot from Rory McJarrow saw Hutt edge out to an 11-8 win at the final whistle.
"CDM's style of play was very physical compared to what we're used to in New Zealand. They're really fast and that got us on a few occasions." said Hutt's Cameron Hayes.
