Lots of action at Epsom Girls' Aquatic Center this morning.

Opening match proved to a tough fought battle between Marist Blue and Rotorua in the U16 Girls' Division. Goal for goal for the first half, but rotorua came out strong in the 3rd to go up two points. Marist Blue narrowed the gap with a 9 seconds left on the clock but Rotorua managed to withhold their lead right through till the final buzzer. Final Score Rotorua 5 - Marist Blue 4. Anna Bird from Rotorua had a solid performance as she kicked the game off with a goal in the first quarter and managed to assist securing the win with scoring her second goal in the 3rd.

The second game also maintained the audiences attention with Mohui and Tauranga B girls'. After an equal 1-1 first quarter Mohui capitalized early in the second to take the lead. Tauranga B responded conceiving 2 goals in a row and from that point they were unstoppable. Tauranga B took the game 6-3.

Unfortunately Tauranga B Boys' had a massive challenge for their opening match as they were facing North Harbour A. Despite an obvious difference in size the Tauranga Boys' battled well right till the final buzzer. Only allowing North Harbour an acerage of 4 goals per quarter. With a final score of 16 - 2. Between last nights game and todays North Harbour are proving to be making a strong statement in these early rounds. Special mention to George Williams from Tauranga who managed to capatalize twice on North Harbour and Players to keep an eye on from North Harbour are Matthew Morris who managed 5 goals, closely followed by Ethan Thomas with 4 and a solid effort from Michael Brown with 3.

North Harbour prevailed yet again in the final game here at EGGS defeating Canterbury 7-1 in the U16 Girls' division. A solid first have saw a close battle in the opening half of this match with a half time score of 2 - 0 but the 3rd quarter showed North Harbours depth and allowed them to jump ahead 5-0. Canterbury showed some true heart when they came out firing in the last quarter with Lottie Eglington scoring the first and only goal of the match for Canterbury.
