CDM White peg one over Sea Wolf

Californian based CDM's second tier team have beaten Auckland's Sea Wolf in a clincher at West Wave Aquatic centre this evening.

The first quarter saw the Sea Wolf ahead 2-1 with goals from Max Rudowski and Theo Baxter, scoring one each.

The two teams went goal for goal right until the last quarter, with the scores standing at 8-8 with 3 and a half minutes left to play.
With 2 minutes left on the clock, CDM White earned a 5 meter penalty. Corona Del Mar's Jack Hoy stepped up to the mark, netting in the bottom right hand corner to put his team ahead 8-9 in the dying minutes.

"I was pretty psyched, I just started with this group and it's pretty fun to just come here with them and score that goal, it was kinda fun." said Jack Hoy.

An assist from Hoy let his team-mate J. Barden score a winner from centre-forward, setting the score for the game at 8-10 in CDM White's favour.

One of the defining factors for teams in this tournament is the ability to adjust to the New Zealand style of game-play and some different refereeing.

"It's totally different, the refs are completely different," said Hoy, "...guys take it way more serious here - in California where we are it's pretty serious but compared to here it's totally different."

CDM White take on Canberra tomorrow at 1:45pm here at West Wave.

CDM White and Sea Wolf line up on half-way heading into the deciding final three minutes.
