The Corona del Mar woman’s team are looking forward to a
competitive 2 weeks in Auckland. The team will be playing in both the U20
and U18 divisions.
Starting off in the U20W competition, their opening game was
a real battle against Auckland Marist U20W side, resulting in a 5-5 draw. While
defensively strong utilizing their zone defence to drop on Marist’s Centre
Forward, CDM Coach Ross and several players admitted they missed quite a few opportunities
throughout the game, especially on Penalty Shots, where Marist’s Goalie Jess
Milicich saved 3 from 3 penalties throughout the game.
While they enjoyed their first game, CDM are already looking forward to improve in their upcoming games and to become familiar with the different style of playing and refereeing in New Zealand.
